A short note on what this site is — and isn't.

Subnautica 2 Wiki is a fan-made, modular database wiki for Subnautica 2 on the planet Proteus. It is designed to be the opposite of a blog: structured data first, cross-linked entities, no autoplay video, no listicle "Top 10" articles, no SEO mulch.

Every page is generated from a typed content collection. A creature is a record, not an essay. A biome links to its resources, fauna, leviathans, and POIs by slug. A recipe links to its ingredients. When something is uncertain, it is flagged with a "last verified" date and a note — not hidden.

Principles

  • Modular over prose. If it can be a row, a card, or a chip, it isn't a paragraph.
  • Patch-current. Every entity tracks which Early Access build last verified its data.
  • No dark patterns. No autoplay, interstitials, mailing-list popups, or fake "ads" disguised as content.
  • Static & fast. Built with Astro, shipped as plain HTML. No tracking, no analytics beyond aggregate server logs.
  • Honest about gaps. Missing images, unverified recipes, and audit conflicts are marked, not papered over.

Maintainers

Maintained by a small group of Subnautica players. To contribute a correction or flag bad data, the easiest route is to open an issue against the source data repository.
