Subnautica 2 Walkthrough & Beginner Guide
Six progression tiers, each with prep tables (tools, resources, equipment, adaptations) and step-by-step objectives. Built for both first-time and returning Subnautica players.

0–50m - Prologue & Basic Tools
0–50m1. **Finish Prologue.** Survival mode: escape crashing hab, eject in Lifepod. (Creative starts in Lifepod.) 2. **Gather materials:** Quartz, Titanium, Copper, Acidic Raion Pouch (cut from brain-like plant under Lifepod cave using Survival Multitool). 3. **Craft Survival Multitool** (Titanium) from Lifepod Fabricator. 4. **Craft Basic Battery** (2 Copper + 1 Acidic Raion Pouch). 5. **Power up the Welcome Center** (~95m SE of Lifepod). Insert battery into wall outlet → powers Biolab and NoA terminal. 6. **Pick first 2 Biomods** at Biolab (recommended: Dash + Oxygen Control or Sea Skimmer). 7. **Boot NoA Terminal** → reveals planet name: **Proteus**; unlocks Personal Message log + Basic Basebuilding entry. 8. **Scan & craft Scanner** (2 Quartz + 2 Titanium + 1 Basic Battery). 9. **Craft Air Bladder** (emergency oxygen). 10. **First Angel Comb** → Digestion Adaptation. Found ~150m N along black cable.

51–75m - Build a Base
51–75m1. Scan blueprints (Habitat Builder fragment under Welcome Center). 2. Activate Biobeds (your respawn point). 3. Build first base (shallow, < 200m, Fabricator + Solar Panels on top). 4. Gather Silver and Lead. 5. Craft **Sonic Resonator**. 6. Cleanse first Angel Comb chain → **Heat Tolerance Adaptation**.

76–100m - Tadpole Pens
76–100m1. Expand base. 2. Gather Salt + Necrolei Cyst. 3. **Craft Tadpole** (submersible). Default crush depth 250m. 4. Travel to **Tadpole Pens** facility. Press red button on locked door → triggers NoA alert. 5. **Recover Zip's Blackbox** — Hot Cave SW of Tadpole Pens. Park Tadpole at ~240m opening; swim down to supply crate at **310m**. Interact with object on crate → **Kurul Level Access Key**. 6. **Return to Tadpole Pens**, press red button → door opens. Inside: Repair Tool blueprint, ladder to upper room with NoA Terminal companion. Triggers next objective.

101–250m - Alien Ruins
101–250m1. **Install Scout Ray Chassis** (Tadpole Pens area). 2. Travel to **Alien Ruins** (~1300m E of Lifepod). Sits across the **Collector Leviathan trench**. 3. Required prep: **Rebreather** (Colonist Bunker 300m SW of Lifepod), **High Capacity Air Tank** (data card in Cicada Wreck/Canteen). 4. **Recover Ruby's Blackbox 1** (Tadpole wreck near Cicada debris, edge of Plateaus, 50m). 5. Gather Celestine + Creature Enamel. 6. **Recover Iso's Blackbox** (Cicada Wreck / EVA Prep, ~1782m E of Lifepod, 95m). Requires Repair Tool on broken door. 7. **Recover Ruby's Blackbox 2** (Needler Nest, ~1420m E, 300m depth). 8. **Install Tadpole Depth Module Mk1** (Needler Nest area near Ruby 2) → +200m, max 450m.

251–450m - Repair the Power Plant
251–450m1. **Upgrade equipment** (depth module installed). 2. **Scan Feedback Resonators** → craft upgraded resonator (handles armored bloom cankers). 3. **Gather Conduit Crystals.** 4. **Clear the Alien Ruins Angel Comb** (Karakorum Power Plant, ~1760m ENE, 425m deep). Three juvenile combs (2 cankers each) + 2 final armored cankers. → **Axum Vision Adaptation**. 5. **Lower Turbine Control Room** (SE cliff, ~400m): activate panels → heat pipe lowers. 6. **Scan damaged Turbine** (~5m in front of upper control room at 200m). 7. **Repair Turbine** materials: 10× Titanium Ingot + 10× Mangalloy Ingot + 10× Strontium (requires 60× Titanium + 20× Celestine + 10× Atacamite + 10× Troilite at the Processor). Troilite is the scarce one — keep one seed for Metal Farm. 8. Build the turbine with Habitat Builder at the structure. 9. **Upper Control Room**: rotate symbol dials to align with yellow notches → glow green → activate central console. 10. **Power Plant restored** → Observatory entrance unlocks.

Beyond 450m - Observatory (current EA endpoint)
1. Travel to **Axum Observatory Tower** (~1100m E of Lifepod, on Observatory Island). 2. Drive around to **west side door** (opposite Alien Ruins side). 3. Pull lever / interact with central pedestal → **Axum Door** opens. 4. Scan the **Orrery** inside. 5. **NoA computes true distance from Earth** using nearby pulsar: **~20,000 light-years**. No rescue possible. This is the **end of current EA story content**.
