The Marrowbreach (Mango marrowbreach) is a sharklike apex predator patrolling the Coral Gardens and Shallows at 0–100m depth. At 1,000 HP with variable damage per hit (2–40 damage), it is the most serious sustained predator threat in the starter biomes. A larger, more dangerous variant — the Man-Eating Marrowbreach — also exists in the game data. The Marrowbreach works in tandem with the Houndgar, which blinds prey for the Marrowbreach to ambush.

- If you see Houndgars, the Marrowbreach is nearby — treat the pair as a combo threat.
- Use Electric Discharge biomod (bioscanning Electric Geordie) to shock on contact and break the Marrowbreach's pursuit.
- In Coral Gardens, swim near the coral structures — the Marrowbreach struggles to navigate tight geometry.
