The Periscopic Clowncrab (Ostrakonskelos periskopion, "crab with a periscope") is a defensive crustacean that takes shelter among stinging anemones — using their nematocysts as a natural shield. Found in the Shallows, it waves periscopic eyestalks above the anemone canopy to watch for threats. Passive toward Pioneers unless provoked; the surrounding anemones may cause minor contact damage if the Pioneer swims directly through them.
