The Wakemaker is Subnautica 2's answer to the Seaglide — a forearm-mounted water-jet thruster that propels the Pioneer at 6 m/s, roughly double unassisted swim speed. An integrated torch activates while in motion, eliminating the need for a separate Flashlight during transit. Runs on a Basic Battery (swap for Advanced Battery on long hauls). Essential before you unlock the Tadpole — and still valuable afterwards for tight cave navigation where the sub won't fit.

Notes
Effect: 6 m/s propulsion (≈2× unassisted swim speed). Built-in torch activates while moving. Uses Basic Battery power.
Tips:
- Upgrade to [advanced-battery] to dramatically extend range — critical for the Alien Ruins crossing at ~1,300m from the Lifepod.
- Combine with [basic-fins] or [improved-fins] for the fastest foot-speed in the game.
- The Wakemaker's torch deactivates when you stop — carry a [flashlight] for stationary work.
- In tight caves the Tadpole can't enter, the Wakemaker is your only movement option — always keep one charged.
