- Proteus — ocean moon (not a planet — common confusion) in the Eido-Thea system. Named after the Greek shape-shifting sea god. The Cicada arrived here via an unscheduled phase-gate transit; intended destination was the desert planet Zezura (~14 light-years from origin). True position: ~20,000 light-years from Earth, near the galactic core.
- No 4546B connection. Same universe, completely separate moon, no returning fauna confirmed.
- Pre-game political backdrop: Mongolian Independent States vs Alterra / Trans-System Federation; Kharaa bacterium outbreak (callback to S1) drove the exodus.
