| Name | Biomes | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Cavitation Muffler | A noise-dampening housing that wraps the Tadpole's thruster cavitation signature, reducing the acoustic profile that attracts aggressive fauna. With this module installed, the Collector Leviathan's aggro radius is noticeably reduced, allowing you to pass closer to it without triggering pursuit. Particularly valuable in Root Canyon where the leviathan patrols regularly. Blueprint found in Root Canyon biome (~1,981m east of Lifepod). | |
| Echo Location | An acoustic sonar module that periodically pings the area around the Tadpole, highlighting nearby ore deposits and resources on the HUD as light-blue circles. Dramatically accelerates mining runs by removing the need to sweep manually for ore nodes. Note: this module is only documented by Neoseeker and has not been confirmed by the official wiki or Game8 — treat recipe and availability as uncertain until in-game verification. | |
| Engine Efficiency | A fuel management module that cuts the Tadpole's engine power consumption by 20% per copy installed. Since the Tadpole has 4 upgrade slots, you can install four Engine Efficiency modules for a combined 80% reduction in power draw — essentially making your Power Cell last five times longer between charges. The Blueprint is found in the Observatory biome (~1,313m east of Lifepod). A must-have for long-range expeditions to Karakorum Metal Farms. | |
| Photovoltaic Charger | A solar panel module that mounts on the Tadpole's hull and trickle-charges the onboard Power Cell whenever the sub is in shallow water during daylight hours. While not a full replacement for dock charging, it meaningfully extends range on surface and shallow-water operations — particularly useful for reconnaissance in the Shallows before you establish a Moonpool. Blueprint found in the Power Plant biome near a starship wreck southeast of the purple base. | |
| Strike Armor | Reinforced hull plating that significantly reduces physical damage taken by the Tadpole from creature attacks and terrain collisions — approximately 50% damage reduction per the official wiki. A lifesaver when navigating creature-dense areas like the Needler Nest or when the Collector Leviathan gets a hit in before you can escape. Blueprint found in the Observatory biome (~1,247m east of Lifepod). | |
| Tadpole Depth Module Mk.1 | A structural reinforcement module that increases the Tadpole's crush depth from 250m to 450m, unlocking the vast majority of the EA 1.0 map including the Needler Nest, Root Canyon, and the Karakorum Power Plant. This is the single most important upgrade in the early-to-mid game and is essential for completing the main story. Blueprint found in the Observatory biome cave under the Needler Nest (~1,411m ESE of Lifepod at approximately -200178, 450282, -29629). | |
| Tadpole Depth Module Mk.2 | The advanced hull reinforcement module that pushes the Tadpole's crush depth to 800m, theoretically unlocking the Abyssal Trench and future deep-zone biomes. The blueprint and recipe are known (2× Dedicated Core + 2× Troilite + 2× Mangalloy Ingot), but as of EA 1.0 launch this module is locked behind the survival progression gate — craftable only in Creative mode. Expected to unlock in survival as the EA content roadmap expands. |
